Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of a baby boomer teacher who taught English in emergency remote teaching and her perception of emergency remote teaching implementation. Descriptive qualitative case study approaches were the primary method for this research. The data collection of instruments used an observation sheet and an interview guide. An English teacher categorized as a baby boomer was selected as the research subject. The results showed that the baby boomer English teacher used asynchronous and task-based learning strategies to implement emergency remote teaching. Due to this fact, the interaction in the class was lacking. The difficulties are also faced by the baby boomer teacher when operating ICT and designing material for emergency remote teaching. However, the case study method cannot generalize the result. However, the case could be the primary basis for developing teaching and learning during the emergency remote teaching.
